| Round hills,
pointed by olive trees and vineyards, but also rich in
woods and scrub-land. Lari is worth a visit: its walls
and castle are really beautiful.
Vicopisano, whose walls
were designed by Brunelleschi, Terricciola with its excellent
red wines and Casciana Terme with its spas, all deserve
a tour. Near Alica there is also the fortress of Palaia,
from which it is possible to enjoy a marvellous view of
the area, and several other small villages such as Montefoscoli
and Castelfalfi, rich in history and in little features
that are typical of all Tuscan hamlets.
Everywhere restaurants
and trattorie where the visitor can taste the true Tuscan
gastronomy.
